Laundry blowing in the breeze on a summer’s day is as quintessentially British as it gets. I rank it up there with strawberries and cream, Wimbledon and afternoon tea! British people, myself included love to hang their washing outside on the line at every opportunity they can get. Sunny, dry and windy days mean one thing - it’s time to put the washing out! Pegging out the laundry is best done on a sunny and dry day but most people will take advantage of a cloudy day too as long as it’s not … [Read more...] about Making the most of a windy day? Chocolate is one of those things that can make us smile. I thought I'd take a look back at a trip my family made where there were plenty of smiles including chocolate enhanced ones! My daughter Kate is a fabulous … [Read more...] about Try something different

Our life was very settled. We had just finishing a complete rebuild of two farm cottages into our 'forever' home. I'd spent a year of my life supervising builders and … [Read more...] about Would you consider moving abroad?
My favourite Saturday morning- at a farmers' market It feels good to buy from local and small producers. People who care about what they've grown and raised. Having lived in England most my life the farmers' markets here in Arkansas have a different and intriguing selection of fruit and vegetables that are very diverse and exciting to me. The novelty of … [Read more...] about Farmers’ Market
